These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Man with Van Catford provides removal, transport and related services. By making a booking, you agree that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms and Conditions on your own behalf and, where applicable, on behalf of any other person using the service under your booking.

1. Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions, the following words have the meanings set out below:

Customer means the person or business making the booking and responsible for payment.

Services means removal, collection, delivery, loading, unloading, transportation, and any other related services agreed between the Customer and Man with Van Catford.

Vehicle means any van or other vehicle used to provide the Services.

Goods means the items that are to be moved, transported or otherwise handled as part of the Services.

2. Scope of Services

Man with Van Catford provides local and regional removal and transport services, including home moves, office moves, single-item and multi-item transport, and related loading and unloading. The precise scope of the Services for each booking will be as confirmed at the time of booking based on the information you provide.

We reserve the right to refuse to carry any items that are prohibited, unsafe, illegal, excessively heavy, or which you have failed to declare accurately at the time of booking.

3. Booking Process

All bookings are subject to availability and are not confirmed until we have accepted your request and issued a booking confirmation. You are responsible for ensuring that all information you provide at the time of booking is complete and accurate, including collection and delivery addresses, access details, parking information, the nature and quantity of Goods, and any items requiring special handling.

When making a booking, you must specify:

1. The date and approximate start time of the move or transport.

2. The size and type of property or premises, where applicable.

3. Any access restrictions, such as stairs, narrow hallways, lifts, or limited parking.

4. Any fragile, high-value, bulky, or heavy items.

5. Whether packing or dismantling services are required.

If the information provided is incomplete or inaccurate, additional charges may apply or the Services may be refused or delayed. You must inform us promptly of any changes to your booking details. We will use reasonable efforts to accommodate changes, but cannot guarantee availability or that the original price will remain valid if the scope or timing of the Services changes.

4. Access, Parking and Your Responsibilities

You are responsible for ensuring that adequate access and suitable parking are available at both the collection and delivery addresses for the Vehicle for the agreed time period. This includes arranging any necessary parking permissions or permits and covering any associated costs.

If suitable parking is not available, or if access is significantly more difficult than described at the time of booking, additional charges may apply to cover extra time, walking distances, use of alternative access routes, or rearranged services. If we are unable to complete the Services due to lack of access or parking, the booking may be treated as a cancellation by you and cancellation charges may apply.

You must ensure that the Goods are properly packed and ready for loading at the agreed time unless packing services have been specifically agreed. You are responsible for disconnecting appliances, dismantling furniture, and protecting fragile items, unless we have agreed to perform these tasks as part of the Services.

5. Charges and Payments

The charges for our Services are based on the information you provide at the time of booking, which may include the size of the Vehicle, the number of movers, the estimated duration, distance, and any additional services requested.

We may offer fixed-price quotations or hourly rates. Where hourly rates apply, the chargeable time runs from the agreed start time or the time of arrival at the collection address, whichever is later, until completion of unloading at the final delivery address. Waiting time caused by access problems, delays in loading or unloading, or other circumstances outside our control may be chargeable.

Unless expressly agreed otherwise, payment is due in full either in advance of the booking or immediately upon completion of the Services. We may require a deposit to secure your booking. Deposits are generally non-refundable except where we cancel the Services without fault on your part.

We reserve the right to refuse to start or to continue the Services if payment is not made when due. If payment is not received on time, we may charge reasonable late payment fees and interest in accordance with applicable law. You are responsible for all fees and charges associated with your chosen method of payment.

6. Cancellations and Amendments

You may cancel or amend your booking by giving us notice. The applicable cancellation terms will depend on how much notice you give.

If you cancel more than 7 days before the scheduled service date, we may refund any balance paid, less any non-refundable deposit or reasonable administrative costs.

If you cancel within 7 days but more than 48 hours before the scheduled service date, we may retain part of the total charge or deposit to cover loss of bookings and administrative expenses.

If you cancel within 48 hours of the scheduled service date, fail to be present at the agreed time, or fail to provide access such that we cannot reasonably perform the Services, we may charge up to the full agreed price for the booking.

We will use reasonable efforts to accommodate changes to dates, times or scope of work, but cannot guarantee availability or that the original price will apply. If we are unable to perform the Services due to events beyond our reasonable control, such as severe weather, accidents, road closures, or vehicle breakdown, we will rearrange the booking at the earliest reasonable opportunity. In such cases, our liability is limited to rescheduling the Services or refunding any amounts paid for services not provided.

7. Customer Obligations

You agree to:

1. Provide accurate and complete information at the time of booking.

2. Ensure that you or an authorised representative is present at both collection and delivery addresses to supervise and sign for the Services.

3. Clearly label any items that require special handling or are fragile.

4. Comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including those relating to hazardous materials and waste.

5. Pay all charges due for the Services in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.

If you fail to comply with your obligations, we may suspend or cancel the Services, and you may be liable for any resulting losses, costs or charges.

8. Items We Do Not Carry

We do not carry, and you must not request us to carry, any of the following without our express prior agreement:

1. Hazardous, flammable, explosive or corrosive materials.

2. Illegal goods or items obtained unlawfully.

3. Live animals or perishable goods requiring special storage or transport conditions.

4. Cash, precious metals, securities, or other items of exceptional value.

5. Waste, rubble or construction debris beyond normal household or office items, unless agreed as part of a compliant waste removal service.

If we discover that we are carrying any prohibited items, we may refuse to transport them, and you will be responsible for any costs, losses or damages arising from your failure to comply with this clause.

9. Waste Regulations and Disposal

Any removal of waste or unwanted items as part of the Services must comply with applicable waste management and environmental regulations. We only remove waste that we are legally permitted and equipped to handle. We reserve the right to decline removal of any items that contravene such regulations or require specialist disposal.

Where waste removal is agreed, we will transport such items only to authorised disposal or recycling facilities. You are responsible for accurately describing the nature of any waste or unwanted items at the time of booking. If items are found to include hazardous or regulated materials that were not declared, additional charges may apply and we may refuse to take them.

You must not use our Services to dispose of hazardous waste, controlled substances, or items requiring specialist licensing unless expressly agreed in advance. You remain responsible for any fines, penalties or legal consequences arising from non-compliant disposal of items you have provided.

10. Liability for Loss or Damage

We will exercise reasonable care and skill in handling and transporting your Goods. However, our liability for loss or damage is subject to the limitations and exclusions set out in these Terms and Conditions.

You must notify us as soon as reasonably possible of any visible loss or damage to Goods at the time of delivery or, in the case of non-obvious damage, within a reasonable period after delivery. We may request evidence of the damage and may inspect the items before accepting any liability.

Our liability for loss or damage to Goods is limited to the reasonable cost of repair or replacement of the affected items, taking into account fair wear and tear and the age and condition of the items. We are not liable for:

1. Loss or damage arising from your failure to properly pack, protect or secure items, unless we have agreed to provide packing services.

2. Damage to items with pre-existing defects or weakness.

3. Damage caused by handling items that are oversized, overweight or structurally unsound where you insisted that we move them despite our advice.

4. Indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profits, loss of business, or loss of opportunity.

5. Loss or damage to items that you or your representatives pack, load or unload without our involvement.

We are not responsible for any loss, damage or delay arising from events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to accidents, severe weather, road closures, traffic congestion, or acts of third parties.

11. Insurance

We recommend that you have adequate insurance in place to cover your Goods during transit and handling. Our charges do not automatically include comprehensive insurance cover for your Goods. You should check your existing household or business insurance policies or arrange additional cover if required.

Any insurance provided or arranged by you is independent of these Terms and Conditions, and any claims under such insurance must be made directly with your insurer.

12. Complaints and Claims

If you wish to make a complaint or claim relating to our Services, you should contact us as soon as possible and provide full details of the issue, including dates, locations, descriptions of Goods, and photographs where available.

We will investigate complaints and claims promptly and fairly. You agree to cooperate with any reasonable requests for information or evidence needed to assess your complaint or claim. Where we are found to be responsible for loss or damage, any compensation will be limited in accordance with the liability clauses in these Terms and Conditions.

13. Data Protection and Privacy

We collect and use your personal information for the purposes of managing your booking, providing the Services, processing payments, and communicating with you. We will handle your personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws and will take reasonable steps to keep it secure.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share your data with trusted service providers where necessary to deliver the Services, process payments, or comply with legal obligations.

14. Termination

We may cancel or suspend the Services immediately if you fail to pay any amount due, breach these Terms and Conditions, provide false or misleading information, or use the Services for any unlawful purpose.

Upon termination, you remain liable for all charges incurred up to the date of termination and for any costs resulting from your breach of these Terms and Conditions.

15. Amendments to Terms and Conditions

We may update or amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The version in force at the time of your booking will apply to that booking. Continued use of our Services after changes have been published indicates your acceptance of the updated Terms and Conditions for future bookings.

16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, or with the Services provided by Man with Van Catford, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

You and Man with Van Catford agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or their subject matter.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found by a court or other competent authority to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed deleted, but the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

18. Entire Agreement

These Terms and Conditions, together with any written booking confirmation, quotation or other agreed documentation, constitute the entire agreement between you and Man with Van Catford in relation to the Services. You acknowledge that you have not relied on any statement, promise or representation not expressly set out in these Terms and Conditions.
